Quality & Project Specialist Europe

Role Purpose

The Quality & Project Specialist at AFA Europe is responsible for ensuring product and process quality, regulatory compliance, technical product support, and effective project execution across the European sales organization. The role safeguards product specifications as well as customer and regulatory requirements, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and acts as the technical conscience of our business by balancing compliance, opportunity, risk, and practical, common-sense solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance, Sustainability & Compliance

  • Lead quality related activities such as audits, certifications, corrective action programs, continuous improvement plans, customer satisfaction initiatives, and new product implementations.
  • Ensure products and processes comply with EU regulations, global AFA quality specifications, sustainability objectives, and customer requirements for the home and personal care packaging and dispensing market, including ISO, GPSR, REACH, PPWR, GMP, and other relevant standards.
  • Execute 8D root cause analysis, perform risk assessments, manage quality complaints, define preventive actions, and follow up with all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate sustainability reporting and product level sustainability data.
  • Collaborate with global AFA Quality, Operations, and R&I teams to embed European quality and compliance requirements into product specifications.
  • Promote quality and sustainability practices across product development, operations, customer and supplier engagement.

Technical Sales and Product Support

  • Provide 2nd line technical product support and product training to sales team and customers.
  • Handle customer complaints in line with AFA commercial policy, operational capabilities and product specifications, in coordination with all stakeholders.
  • Translate business and customer requirements into clear product specifications, project plans and deliverables.
  • Coordinate product change requests, including specification updates, industrialization, validation, release, and compliance with all stakeholders.
  • Act as the technical conscience of the European sales organization, applying sound judgment and practical common sense.

Project Management

  • Coordinate projects across Quality Assurance, product portfolio, R&I, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, suppliers, customers, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, resources, and budgets.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, resolve issues, and ensure delivery on time.
  • Ensure consistent use of project management methodologies and reporting standards.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, external partners, customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly to senior management.
  • Facilitate alignment between quality, product, and sustainability objectives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Engineering, Quality Management, Plastics / Injection Moulding / Assembly and Sustainability and/or experience in this field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality, project, product execution, or sustainability driven environments, with the ambition to take the next career step.
  • Demonstrated talent to manage cross functional and international projects.
  • Experience working in a commercial environment.
  • For the project-based activities of this role, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) and project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) are considered assets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Preferred living within an acceptable distance of Eindhoven.
