Modern Workspace Engineer

Job Purpose:
The Modern Workspace Engineer designs, implements, and maintains IT solutions that enable seamless collaboration, productivity, and security in a modern digital workspace environment. The role focuses on end-user computing, cloud-based solutions, and advanced troubleshooting, ensuring employees have a smooth and secure experience across all devices and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, Implementation, and Optimization:

  • Design and implement Microsoft Azure and Intune-based solutions for endpoint management and cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance IT infrastructure.
  • Optimize system performance and scalability, focusing on business needs.

Workspace Management:

  • Manage and maintain IT systems, including servers, virtual machines, storage solutions, and networks within Azure and on-premises environments.
  • Configure and oversee Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and mobile device security.
  • Design and implement modern workspace solutions.
  • Configure and manage endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Act as point of contact for internal IT issues, providing remote and on-site technical assistance.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues across the organization.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems involving Azure, Intune, and other IT systems.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and manage security measures, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), Conditional Access Policies, and Security Center in Azure.
  • Implement and monitor security policies for devices, applications, and data, including endpoint security and identity management.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory IT security standards through regular audits.

User Support and Training:

  • Provide training to staff on IT tools, systems, and best practices in security protocols.
  • Create and maintain user-friendly documentation for troubleshooting, system configurations, and frequently encountered issues.
  • Deliver exceptional user support to ensure high satisfaction levels.
  • Conduct user training sessions to improve adoption and understanding of modern tools.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on system configurations, IT processes, and incident reports.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to IT leadership on strategic improvements in the IT landscape.

Collaboration and Project Support:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, project managers and suppliers on new solutions and upgrades.
  • Assist in organization-wide IT projects, including migrations and rollouts of new technologies.
  • Support network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN maintenance and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or ITIL Foundation are preferred.

Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including Compute, Networking, and Storage.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and security.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and hardware, as well as diagnostic tools.

Problem-Solving and Communication:

  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical audiences.

Interpersonal and Organizational Skills:

  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player capable of working independently.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT engineering roles with a focus on Microsoft Azure, Intune, and IT support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse IT environments, including both cloud and on-premises systems.
