About the role
The IT Support Engineer ensures that all employees can work efficiently, securely, and confidently within a modern digital environment. You act as the first point of contact for IT incidents, service requests, and information inquiries, providing hands-on support and contributing to a reliable and user-friendly IT landscape. This role combines technical expertise with clear communication, curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership for delivering excellent user experiences.
Key responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related incidents, service requests, and information inquiries, both remotely and on-site.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a structured and timely manner.
- Escalate complex technical problems to senior colleagues or vendors when required.
- Communicate clearly with users, ensuring minimal downtime and high satisfaction throughout the process.
2. System & Device Management
- Manage user accounts, access rights, and security policies within Microsoft 365 and EntraID.
- Support endpoint management, configuration, and patching software through Microsoft Intune and related tools.
- Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of laptops, mobile phones, and peripherals.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact operations.
3. User Experience & Training
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a consistent, positive user experience.
- Create and maintain clear documentation, self-help guides, and FAQs for common IT procedures.
- Support onboarding by preparing accounts, devices, and user training for new employees.
- Provide one-on-one or small group sessions to improve users’ digital skills and awareness of security best practices.
4. Security & Compliance
- Support the enforcement of security measures such as MFA, Conditional Access, and endpoint protection.
- Report and help resolve security incidents and vulnerabilities promptly.
- Assist with internal IT audits and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within IT support operations.
- Collaborate with IT colleagues and project teams on infrastructure upgrades and system migrations.
- Stay up to date with developments in Microsoft 365, Intune, and other modern workplace technologies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- MBO/HBO level education in Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-900 (Microsoft 365 Fundamentals), MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator), or ITIL Foundation are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in IT support or service desk roles, preferably within a Microsoft 365 environment, also Teams and SharePoint administration
- Proven experience providing user support and managing endpoints in a mid-sized or international organization.
- Strong understanding of Windows 11 environments and endpoint management (Intune).
- Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi).
- Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based support workflows.
